There is something about her name, it sounds musical and stately. Regina Cassandra from Chennai is the fresh face in the Telugu film industry. Very articulate with a clear voice, this pretty woman has already done a couple of Tamil movies and a Kannada film before signing SMS (Siva Manasulo Sruthi) to be directed by Tatineni Satya. There is a reason why she looks so comfortable before the camera, Regina started working on commercials and advertisements ever since she was in the fourth standard, her first one being the Funskool ad that was followed by her job as an anchor for a kids channel called Splash.
However she made her debut in a Tamil movie Kanda Naal Mudhal when she was in the 9th class. That was followed by a Kannada film Suryakanthi. A graduate in Psychology from Women's Christian College in Chennai, Regina wanted to take a year off before taking a final call on joining movies.
She thought she would return to being a counselor instead if things didn't work out. Does she watch Telugu films? This script had done very well in Tamil and Regina confesses to not watching any Telugu film but made it a point to see most of the songs on television.
The Sagittarian loves travelling and travelling light. About her co-star Naga Sudhir Babu she adds that the only thing she knows about him is that he is Mahesh Babu's brother-in-law.
As a parting shot ask her if she has siblings, she says she's the only child but the moment she mentions it people react rather fast..Oh! spoilt and pampered! Not fair at all she stresses.
