Story - Marley and Me

John (Owen Wilson) and Jenny (Jennifer Aniston) were just beginning their life together. They were young and in love, with a perfect little house and not a care in the world. Then they brought home Marley, a wiggly yellow furball of puppy love. Life would never be the same.

Marley and Me - Heartwarming

Adapted from John Grogan's book best selling book of the same name, Marley and Me is a portrayal of life, love, joy and death as seen through the relationship between a young couple and their loyal pet dog Marley. The plot of the movie is pretty basic. John Grogan (Owen Wilson) and Jenny (Jennifer Aniston) are a journalist couple embarking on heir married life. When Jenny suggests that he gets a dog to get her mind off kids and so enter Marley. Then on, we watch Marley grow into ninety pounds of trouble with unconditional love for his family. The good times do not last forever and we see the passing away of Marley and his family's loss at loosing him.

Marley and Me is a nicely done movie that keeps tugging at the heartstrings trying to elicit the maximum emotional reaction from ones watching it. It has its values right and will keep you engaged with a good dose comedy and emotional drama. The strongpoint of the movie are its charismatic lead pair and robust script. The script in particular is well structured to involve all the characters in Marley's life as an important part of it. The realistic connections made between the characters also make the joy, comedy, frustrations, and even sadness demonstrated in this story very significant and pertinent.

Coming to the other highlight, Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston are really charming and believable as the journalist couple. There is plenty of natural chemistry between the two and their acting is equally impeccable.  Alan Arkin as John's editor and Kathleen Turner as a dog trainer are also excellent. Summing up, Marley and Me is an enjoyable movie, particularly for dog lovers. While dog lovers cannot afford to miss this film, if you aren’t one, there is a decent chance that you will seem them slightly differently after watching this movie.
