Story - Arundhati

Arundhati (Anushka) is descendant of Gadwal ruling dynasty. Few days before her marriage, she comes to the fort of Gadwal where she goes through a strange and terrifying experience. She then comes to know that she is a look alike of her great grandmother Jejamma (Anushka) who in her time had killed Pasupathi (Sonu Sood), an evildoer. Now the spirit of Pasupathi haunts that palace and is after Arundathi. The rest of the movie is about how Arundhati puts an end to the evil spirit of Pasupathi.

Arundathi is based on the traditional belief that the spirit of a deceased person who has died before his/her time will not leave the earth. Its protagonist Arundhati (Anushka) is a descendant of the gadwall dynasty. Arundathi is a visually enticing movie with mind blowing graphics and presentation. The director has stuck to the simple good vs. evil plot, supporting it with a taut script and top notch screenplay. It may not be wrong to say that the graphics team is the real hero of the film. The movie is well paced and while the first half goes about with the building of the plot, it is not until the interval that the true story is revealed. The second half is packed with some high voltage action, culminating in a worthwhile climax.

As for the performances, Anushka is the fulcrum of the movie and has successfully delivered a roaring performance. Sonu Sood is terrific as the evil force and packs a lot of venom in his performance. Overall, Arundathi is a treat of a movie with a racy screenplay and top of the line visual effects.
