Story - TN-07- AL- 4777

Mani (Pasupathy) is a taxi driver who lives with his wife (Simran) and son. However, not wanting to disclose his profession lies to his wife that he is an insurance agent. Gautham (Ajmal) is the son of an extremely wealthy man who dies leaving his property to his friend as he doesn’t trust his son.  Ajmal files a cheating case against his dad’s friend and to prove his point he is on his way to the bank locker to produce the old will written on his name.

On the fateful day, Gautham travels in Mani’s car and in his haste to reach the court in time, he hurries Pasupathy and lures him with money to violate traffic rules and get him there. This eventually lands his taxi in an accident that leads to a street brawl and police intervention. Pasupathy is taken to the police station and realizing the seriousness of the situation, Ajmal slowly slips away. Now Pasupathy hits the jackpot when he realizes that Ajmal in his haste, has left in his taxi, the key to the locker and decides to settle scores with him using this as his trump card.

TN 07 AL 4777- A Satisfying Ride

A remake of the Nana Patekar-John Abraham starrer 'Taxi No. 9-2-11, TN 07 AL 4777 tells the story of what happens when a rich young man (Ajmal Ameer) boards the taxi of a struggling taxi driver (Pasupathy). The rich brat is likely to out on his fathers will unless he produces the original will left in a locker. The locker keys go missing after a mishap and while Ajmal wants the keys at any cost, Pasupathy just won’t give it.

TN 07 AL 4777 succeeds as director Lakshmikanthan has stuck to the soul of the original while also making the requisite changes to suit the Tamil audience. He has convincingly executed a slick and air tight script that has the action moving at a rather brisk pace. Lending admirable support is the movie’s top notch cast, especially Pasupathy. Pasupathy, as the taxi driver, is the driving force of this movie. He excels in the emotional scenes towards the movie's end and amazingly, he makes you laugh even though he hardly smiles in the movie. Ajmal is cool, confident and looks apt for his character in the movie. In all, TN 07 AL 4777 is a very interesting circumstantial movie about two diametrically opposite people from opposite spectrums of the society and how their paths cross. Worth a watch.
