Story - Villu

Major Saravanan (Vijay) is brutally murdered by terrorists and druglords, who brand him a terrorist and his dead body is left to rot in the open as villagers refuses to cremate him. How his son Pughal (Vijay) soldiers on to redeem the honour of his father and wreaks revenge on the criminals form the crux of the story.

Villu – A Test of Patience

While there was a lot of hype around Villu, the movie has sadly failed to deliver. With tacky production values, shabby cinematography and amateurish direction Villu almost becomes a torture. The revenge based story is as old as the movie industry itself and while Director Prabhudeva may have been impressed by Abbas – Mastan's Bollywood hit Soldier, he has stretched his imagination too much in trying to remake the movie. It's a wholesome Vijay show and the actor is at his best, be it the stunt sequence, comedy or the romantic episodes. Nayanthara looks appealing and provides the eye candy. Vadivelu’s comedy, though loud, proves the saving grace for the movie in many instances. Overall, Villu is a poor product and strictly for the very ardent Vijay fans.
