A local court on Thursday the 2nd of July extended till July 16th the judicial custody of Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, arrested for allegedly raping his maid.

Ahuja was produced before the Andheri metropolitan magistrate court as his judicial custody got over on Thursday.

The actor had filed a bail application before the session’s court last week which will come up for hearing on Friday.
Ahuja was detained on June 14th and arrested a day later after his domestic help accused him of raping her while they were alone at his house.

Police said DNA tests and medical reports of the victim and Ahuja had corroborated the allegations made by the victim in her FIR.

Chief Minister Ashok Chavan had said the case would be committed to a fast track court to ensure justice and rehabilitation would be provided to the victim.

Ahuja has been in judicial custody since June 18th and is lodged at the Arthur Road jail since then.
