The south is in for a double dose of Shazahn Padamsee as two of her films — Kanimozhi in Tamil and Orange in Telugu — will release this Friday.
And if there's anyone who's thrilled, it's the actress herself. "I'm happy that both my films are releasing together, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed," she says. "The only problem is that I will be pressed for time and won't be able to attend premieres of both the films."
Busy in Mumbai, the actress hasn't had the opportunity to get feelers of the buzz in the south, but she says that she's confident that both her films will be received well. "Being in Mumbai, it's hard to judge what's going on in Hyderabad and Chennai, but I've head that Harris Jayaraj's Ruba Ruba... in Orange, is a chartbuster."
She's most excited about Kanimozhi and is confident that her pairing with Jai will strike a chord with Tamil audiences. "On the sets, Jai and I got on very well; in fact, he kept me laughing the whole time. I hope that chemistry comes across in the film as well," she said.
About Ruba Ruba..., it is said that Genelia was initially supposed to be cast in the song, but on the hero Ram Charan's insistence, Shazahn was cast since Genelia's 'homely' image would not work. As for Shazahn, she says that she fell in love with the song even before she shot for it. "I feel special to be part of this song. The whole experience of shooting for the song was wonderful. When I first heard the song, it captivated me and after that, I found myself listening to it over and over again. I didn't understand the lyrics but the composition is just superb."
