Nanban rights have been purchased by Sun Pictures Ltd. The film that was originally with Gemini Film Circuit has changed hands now with Sun Pictures. Even though its not clear that Sun has bagged the satellite or the distribution rights or both, but Sun which has been keeping a low profile ever since their last hit Endhiran, has resurfaced now.
Uptill now, the distribution giant has been taking a backseat, so lots of other smaller production houses, have come to play a significant role now in the realm of Tamil cinema.
Sun Pictures Nanban, which is releasing on January 12th as a Pongal treat for Tamil film-lovers has an interesting cast and seems to have garnered media and public attention. Director Shankar who is said to have viewed the original, and impressed with the same during the making of ‘Endhiran’ has made some beautiful adaptations to make it suitable for audiences here.
